The time has come for me to move on. Im leaving Elle Decoration. The good news is that you can come with me! Im just moving to their sister site, so its more like switching offices across the hall than a major upheaval, which means it should all be quite smooth and easy. So from now on you can read my blog over at Residence instead, please join me there!

Mari Giudicelli
Mari Giudicelli is the gorgeous brazilian who you have seen modelling for cool brands like Maryam Nassir Zadeh and Erin Considine (amongst many others). she is, naturally, very stylish herself and is launching an eponymous shoe brand - debuting this Friday. you can read all about it at T Magazine. Giudicelli cites nature as her primary inspiration for the collection, along [...]

Overgrowth
you might be one of the 52k people who follow photographer Parker Fitzgerald on Instagram, or you may know his work from extensive collaborations with big names like Kinfolk or perhaps you first discovered him when i featured his work way back in 2010 (mega blog flashback!). over the course of two years Fitzgerald collaborated with floral designer Riley Messina, [...]

Goodies No. 27
damn, it's been a helluva week. we had to have both our family dogs put down within a day of each other, and it wreaked havoc with my emotions. i was basically Ron Burgundy in this scene. every now and then Anton would walk in on me ugly crying at my desk, a concerned look on [...]

Iittala X Issey Miyake
Stockholm Design Week just started with new products being launched around the clock all over the city, and I'll show you some favourites tomorrow. Right now I want to show the campaign for Issey Miyake's collaboration with Iittala, as it stands out a bit from the crowd with its poetic video and images. They also created the hashtag #PauseForHarmony, where you are encouraged to share your own images of harmony, and it has already turned into a beautiful collection on insta.

Bright New Swedish Beach House
Newly built houses usually lack the personality and atmosphere that comes for free with an older building, they miss the nooks and crannies and the charm that comes with age and patina. While many feel new homes make up for this with their perfect shiny surfaces and practicality, I usually prefer houses where generations have lived before me. Not the case here though. It might have something to do with the amazing sunset light warming the images, but I believe there is more to it. The styling here is great, with a perfect and credible mix of new and vintage items, making it look like an actual person lives here. The architecture with all its wooden details seem to flirt with both 50's and functionalist style, paired with a healthy dose of modernity. The result: this house looks totally liveable, almost lived in actually.
See more at Wrede where this house is for sale right now.
Lonesome Dove
last week Anton and i got sucked in, deep, to the classic 1989 western mini-series Lonesome Dove. it got to the point where i was texting him during the day saying "don't watch LD without me!" even though my husband is partial to the occasional cowboy film, we were both oblivious to its existence. which is why it was such [...]

Norm Architects Attic Bathroom
An amazing bathroom with tadelakt walls designed by Norm Architects popped up in my Facebook feed, so I had to email them for more images of this Copenhagen home. I hope they brighten up your Monday!
Black Hardware
above image from The Design Files. i have some pretty big news… we bought a house! this has only been a few months in the making, we certainly weren't planning on buying a new house and moving with a baby on the way. we've even done a few renovations in our flat (new parquet floors, new bedroom cupboards) with [...]
