Swedish brand TypeO, previously best known for their art prints, just started a new chapter of their entrepreneurship. Their plan is to, besides their own designs, create a place for brands and products beyond the mass produced stuff that all other web shops are already offering.
”We are convinced that Scandinavia is hungry for designs that are unique, small scale and sustainable. Not necessarily organic, but with a thought of timelessness, manufactured through tried and tested techniques in materials that are made to last.”
Their first step is to present a collection of tableware, designed in California and produced in the ancient Japanese Hasami porcelain district. The stackable crockery was launched in 2014 and is the choice of Monocle coffeeshops all over the world.
I fell for the design which is both minimalist and rustic at the same time, and the practicality of everything being so neatly stackable.
